If the eventual goal is to move abroad and work remotely, How wise of an option is this?

Because you can’t work remotely as a vet or concert pianist in a country of your choice.

It seems so obvious now. Lure you with the promise of a big paycheck, and then get you in their hooks. No wonder bootcamps are heavily promoted on YT, Reddit, etc.

The reality is that without a skill, you can’t earn money. If being a programmer is no less ridiculous than being any other skilled professional, then you might as well cash in and become a programmer anyway.  After all, what’s the diff?

That all sounds fine, but that option is no longer available for a lot of people. As a practical matter, it really isn’t worth considering, especially for those past the teenage years. Presumably, one would go through a kind of apprenticeship or entry-level roles anyway, as a SWE or whatever.

Oh, shut up. You have nothing to say, and no one cares what you think.
